Amboise

Amboise is a commune of the Indre-et-Loire department situated on the banks of the River Loire. As you walk on the streets of this small market town you have the impression that you went back in time. It is no wonder that Amboise has that back-in-time air as I was once the home of the French royal court. And let me tell you all those timbered houses will make you fall in love with this place!

However, if you want to have a look at the whole town from above you will have to enter the Château Chambord and there you will have the best view!

I also recommend the Clock Tower, which in the fifteenth century was the main gate of Amboise and it is located on the Rue National, a little pedestrian street that is filled with shops and cafés. However, the Clock tower is a very curious monument so don't just pass by it without admiring it!

All in all, though Amboise is not a big town there are many places that you can visit, I would recommend you to just take a little walk on its streets and discover while you go!Less
