The first official exhibition of the museum was opened in 1910 in Grange: an historic mansion in Georgian style, built in 1817 in Toronto. AGO has gradually increased over several projects for the extension that took place throughout the 20th century. The most notable redevelopment of the gallery, called Transformation AGO, took place in 2004 and was planned by the famous architect Frank Gehry.
