If you are searching for a place to relax for a few days, I would totally recommend Băile Felix, a thermal spa resort situated in Bihor county and close to Oradea, a major city Transylvania. I love the tranquility of this place situated in a hilly area surrounded by oak tree woods, which make for a beautiful view in summer and autumn. That's why there are many parks, where you can wander for hours enjoying the fresh air. In one park situated right in the center of the resort there is a big lake with lotus flowers and water lillies, which is such a beautiful sight! Among so many lotus flowers you will have the impression that you are in another world.
Băile Felix is home to many mineral springs which are rich in bicarbonate waters. Thermal water is known for its soothing effect on articular and muscular pain and also on rheumatic neuralgias.
If you make reservations in a hotel, you will be offered multiple treatment options like electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, massage, paraffin packing etc. Personally, I recommend the massage as after this you will feel very relaxed. And if you like swimming you can go to the Aqua Park where you will surely have a lot of fun! It has 13 indoor and 5 outdoor swimming pools. Besides these there is also a Turkish bath and Turkish sauna, a wave pool, recreational areas for children or other places to relax.
Getting to Băile Felix is very easy. If you don't have a car you can go by train to Oradea and from there take the train which will take you directly to Băile Felix. It's about 15 minutes to get from Oradea to Felix by train.Less
