Balaa - Baatara gorge waterfall

Balaa waterfall in Tannourine mountains is an incredible natural wonder, with a 255 meter pothole, crossed by 3 natural bridges and a waterfall going to a Jurrassic page.
The pothole is really very steep, and it is definitly frightening to be at the edge and look down. If you are afraid of hights, you can look at at it from where the picture is taken, but you definitly should not come close.

The most beautiful time to visit Balaa 3 bridges is in the spring, when the snow of mount Lebanon mountains grow the waterfall, and when the surrounding of the pothole is green.

You can get there when taking the road from Laklouk to Tannourine, after passing the village of Balaa. You just need to go down the valley for a few minutes, and this incredible view will enchant you.Less

• Baatara Gorge Waterfall, or Balou’ Bala’a, known as the Cave of Three Bridges has  an extraordinary sight  and was discovered by Henri Coiffait in 1952. It is located 76 km from Beirut, around a 2 hour drive. Fantastic  and breathtaking waterfall!
