Borsec

Borsec is for me the place where I have some wonderful childhood memories as I took a trip there in the 7th grade, together with my classmates. We had a very good time in Borsec, that's why I enjoy returning there from time to time.

This town situated in Harghita county is considered the `` Pearl of the Carpathians`` and it is very well known for its spas and mineral waters. In fact, the Borsec mineral water is bottled there and exported to many countries, like Hungary, Germany, Italy, the Unites States etc. In Romania you will find everywhere the Borsec bottled water, which is considered to be the ``Queen of mineral waters in Europe``.

This place is worth visiting not only for the mineral water, but for its beautiful natural surroundings as well. This is definitely the place for those who love nature. This isn't the sort of place where you go in order to discover the history of the place, this is more likely the place to relax and breathe fresh air and a paradise for those who enjoy excursions. By excursions I don't refer only to Borsec, but as well to the other location that are nearby, like the Moldavian monasteries, the Bicazului Gorges, the Praid salt mine and not to forget Sovata .

However, if you go to Borsec in the summer I would advise you to book a hotel in advance as it can be full during holiday season. You wouldn't want to risk to not find a place! Less
