Bouillon Racine

Le bouillon racine is another parisian institution, inaugurated in 1906 by the Chartier borthers.
It kept its original Art Nouveau decoration which made it classified as Historical Monument in Paris.

Besides the decor and Authentic Art Nouveau atmosphere, the restaurant serves traditional french food, tasty and well prepared. Don't search for originality though;
The tarte fine aux tomates & mozarella was very nice, I was a bit more disappointed by the cochon au lait, which is too much stuffed.
My friends had a very good terrine and a steak tartare prepared "au couteau", also very good.
Next time I'll definitly try the file de cannette which is one of the specialties;

The service is good too, with a friendly and attentionate waitress.
They have different formulas from 15 EUR for lunch, to 31 and 49 EUR for diner, which makes le Bouillon Racine an excellent value for money.

I don't know if it was beacuse of a 30 persons group next to us, but I found the upper floor very noisy;

Really nice place, "historical landmark" and typical Art Nouveau atmosphere (marble mosaics, old painted glass...) The decor is excepcional: it's a perfect place to "feel" Paris...

Mostly French food. Last time I had a very good Terrine of summer vegetables and a well-prepared Beef tartare.

I surely recommand to eat their 1900 menu, with the home made duck foie gras with fig compote, the ooasted duckling with Morello cherries and ... their soup of strawberries with mint.Less
