Cinémathèque de Tanger (Cinéma Rif)

Cinema Rif is an iconic place in Tangier with two projection rooms: a small one and a big one. The place is not only popular for the movies that are projected, but also for its coffee shop's atmosphere. It is a place with people of all ages, some play guitar, some listen to music, some only come to enjoy a cigarette in a nice atmosphere, and some come to enjoy the delicious home baked chocolate cake and freshly pressed orange juice!
The place openned in 1938, and since 2006 Cinémathèque de Tanger is a non-profit organisation that aims to develop the film culture in Morocco.
It is located in Place du 9 Avril 1947 (named after the historic visit of Tangier by the former King of Morocco S.M. Mohamed V, anouncing the end of the protectorate).Less
