Katwijk

Katwijk is situated in the province of South-Holland in the western part of the Netherlands. This resort is really close to Leiden and to The Hague as well. From the Hague there are only 16 km and from Leiden you can get there in less than half an hour.

However, if you go to Leiden you have to be prepared. This beach is not as warm as a beach is supposed to be and it is very windy. I would recommend you to take warm clothes with you as you can never anticipate if the weather will be good or bad.

The best thing about Katwijk is that it offers activities for both young and old, so you're never too old to visit Katwijk. Be sure to visit the oldest lighthouse there is on the Dutch Coast near a little white church. You will observe there also old fishing cottages.

For families it is very nice to go to the De Pan van Persijn which is a popular forest where children have plenty of space to play, enjoy the fresh air. Afterward if they are hungry enough they can always eat a pancake at a pancake restaurant which is nearby. Less
