Knokke Heist

Belgium`s fine whitesand beaches are the ideal place for every tourist who wants to relax, escape from all the everyday problems and enjoy the sun, the sea and the sand. But I dare say that there is more to this place than sun, sea and sand. Whether you are the type of person who prefers lying on the beach and getting suntanned or the more adventurous type who puts his/her tourist shoes on in serach of adventure, you are in the right place!

Knokke Heist is located in West-Flanders, a region of Belgium. If this place could be associated with a word that would be fun as it offers everything: your taste buds can experience good food, you can go shopping in the many little boutiques or you can relax by walking or sitting on the beach. To the fun I must add the galleries and museums for the more intellectual tourists. There are many galleries and museums that you can visit.

The thing I like the most about Belgian seaside is the fact that like the Dutch seaside it was blessed with those wonderful dunes, therefore it`s not like other beaches. And since we are talking about dunes if you want to explore this place thoroughly the best way is to get a bike. At the local resorts you can rent one either for a few hours or for more days and the prices are reasonable. Once you have a bicycle you can go on one of the many cycling routes. Perhaps one of the most beautiful cycling routes is the one that goes along the Belgian - Dutch border and through the countryside letting you the explore Het Zwin, a nature reserve.
