La Petite Maison

La petite maison became an institution in Nice over the years, serving a well prepared traditional mediterranean cuisine.

You will have good chances to meet there some stars, politicians,... since it became a must for people visiting the Riviera. Unfortunatly, as often for successful restaurants, it became quite expensive and probably overrated in terms of quality/price ratio.

You will find very different reviews on this restaurant, depending on how the customer was welcomed and treated by the Patronne and the waiters. Nicole Rubi (the Patronne), is definitly a caracter, and depending on how much she likes you (either by being a regular, or because she likes your face), she will welcome you well or badly.

For the fun, I've added a picture of Nicole Rubi recieving the Legion d'Honneur, a french high distinction. During the ceremony, the Mayor of Nice described her in these words: "it's not always easy to become friends with Nicole Rubi. You have those that are real friends, and others who are a bit less,..."
This sentence summerizes well the way she treats her customers.

So if you are very strict on service quality, don't take the risk to go there, if not, and you're willing to live a "risky" experience, don't hesitate to try it.
The food is always good though.
