Le Negresco

The Negresco is definitely the most known and prestigious Hotel in Nice, a real local and international institution;
It is still owned and managed by the same family, Madame Jeanne Augier, who is a very distinguished Lady;
Nevertheless, the Hotel is now somehow oldish, despite a decoration mixing a lot of stylesn with some modern art;
It is somehow flashy and could seem awkward with a mix of 70s art and classical artfacts from Napolean and the Bourbon periods; You will feel this as soon as you arrive with the doormans costumes;
The rooms also have old furniture and decoration, but acceptably well preserved.
The Hotel is located in the middle of the Promenade des Anglais, enjoying a great spot, some 15 minutes walking from the historic town and just in front of the beach.
There are one gastronomic restaurant, one bistrot and one bar in the Hotel; The bistrot and bar are somehow over priced for the quality, and the bar has live singers on WEs.
Eventhough a bit old fashioned, the Negresco remains a milestone in Nice,and an experience by itself. Less
