Le Train Bleu

Le train bleu and Gare de Lyon are among these great monuments built for the 1900 world exhibition in Paris, such as The Grand Palais, the Petit Palais and Alexander III bridge.
Although you would'nt recognize anything spectacular from outside, you will be astonished when you enter this amazing restaurant room, a magnificient example of this 1900 Belle Epoque style. A proficiency of gold, statues and beautiful paintings evoquing the main cities to which trains from Gare de Lyon where covering.

The food served is a sort of mixture of Bistrot traditional cuisine and gastronomic restaurant, new bistronomie style. The dishes are well prepared and we can feel the quality of ingredients used; The café gourmant (4 mini deserts with a coffee) is great;

The service is precise and friendly, yet a bit slow;

The only big problem is the price, which is totally out of range; The cheapest menu is at 56 EUR, and you can easilly reach 80 EUR/pers if you want to choose à la carte. This is simply too much for the quality offered; For this price, you can go to a 2 or 3 stars Michelin gastronomic restaurant.
A good way to eat there and enjoy the beauty of the place, would be the 40 EUR sunday brunch, whiwh is served in the Bar area. Less
