Lisbon to Algarve

For those who go to Algarve from Lisbon, rather than taking the highway you can take a longer but nicer route, enjoying some nice typical portuguese towns and the some beautiful beaches.

The touristic road passing by the coast towards Portimao instead of the highway, pass by Sines and Aljezur, typical portuguese towns, where we eat very well (have lunch in one of them), and where the beaches are fantastic. If we want to really take our time, we can go all the way down to Vila do Bispo (very nice traditional village) and then turn left towards Portimao. This route will take 4h30 v/s 2h30 on the highways, but it's a pleasure by it self. The best would be to take the whole day and enjoy a good lunch and some good site seeing.Less
