Pannenkoekenhuis de Schaapsbel

Leiden is a small town and I know that it is hard to find a place with good desserts when one doesn't got a clue where are all the good places in town.

Pannenkoekenhuis de Schaapsbel (pannekoeken in Dutch meaning pancakes) is situated in the center of Leiden, on the Beestenmarkt.

I can only recommend this place as a good place, because in my opinion they make the best pancakes in town. All the pancakes are made there the moment you order one as they have an open kitchen so you can see how they make them. You might say that pancakes aren`t such a fancy dish and you can make them at home, but trust me you simply can`t make them the way they do it ( and I don`t mean to offend anyone`s culinary talent!). The pancakes are all made in the Dutch way and you can taste the so-called "poffertjes" as well, which are absolutely delicious.

Pannenkoekenhuis has also an open terrace and when it`s sunny outside you can eat on the terrace and enjoy the view in the same time.
