Peştera Scărişoara

Scarisoara Ice Cave is the latest cave visited by me in the summer of 2011. Believe me when I say that nothing compares to the feeling of descending and seeing the cave becoming larger and larger and you feeling colder and colder. If outside the temperature was about 30 degrees C, in the cave we faced a temperature of -2 degrees C. Well, now you know why it's called an ice cave.

The interesting part for me it's the surroundings of the cave. To get to the entrance you would have to simply go down some really dangerous iron stairs covered in plants and small trees. A real tropical environment in the middle of the Carpathian mountains or snow in the summer.Less
