The potter's workshop, located in Corund, Harghita County, offers to tourists the opportunity to see how are crafted on the wheel, the clay vases.

In this area you will find the perfect environment to relaxing walks. In this place, pottery is the main activity, 80% of the inhabitants are dealing with pottery. The first workshops were mentioned only in the seventeenth century and in the eighteenth century, the pottery became official the main occupation of the inhabitants.

At first they they were doing only vases without enamel, for use in the household. Later they developed and started making enamelled vases and painted with traditional models. So in 1930, they set up the first two ceramic factories. Ceramics from Corund became known throughout the world, along with those from Horezu and Marginea.

The potters, are working the clay carefully and skillfully, after they burned it in the ovens. Then the pots are painted with paints produced in the workshop. The predominant colors are: blue, black, yellow and red. All winter, the craftsmen, manufactures the pots to leave for summer with them throughout Romania. Each potter has his specialty: household items, ornaments, miniatures, decorative objects for stoves and so on.

The local authorities have created an ecotourism package called "Promenade Corund". The circuit, for about three hours, includes objectives in the area and performed with horse-drawn carriage. During this circuit, tourists visit: Dealul Melcului – the aragonite mine, semiprecious stone, The traditional "Unicum" salted baths, The Museum of the aragonite, The experimental craft workshop - where tourists can work the clay, The exhibition of the protected areas, The collection of tombstones carved in wood, The Museum House, The Cross Way and Corund panorama - from the plateau above the village, Tinder processing workshop - the only one of Romania, Mineral water spring Arcso, Mineral water spring Szőlőmáli, 9 pottery workshops.

The price of the circuit is 20 Ron. This circuit is made every day, twice a day at 9:00 am and the next at 16:00 pm. Children up to 6 years have free access.
