Saint Paul de Vence is one of the most famous and charming villages in French Provence, which is the at the back of the French Riviera, known under the name of Côte d'Azur.
Located between Nice and Cannes, some 20 kms from Nice, Saint Paul de Vence is definitly worth a visit when you are in these coastal cities. Count half an hour to reach it by car from Nice or Cannes, and a bit less from Antibes.
The town is an attraction by itself, and just wandering in its old streets and along its walls lets you get a bit of France's magical beauty.
In addition, the town holds a few good restaurants like La Colombe D'or and Le Tilleul;
It is not a surprise why many famous artists chose to live in this cute town, among which Matisse, Chagall, Léger, Picasso, Calder, Braque and other famous actors and singers such as Yves Montand and Simone Signoret.
The town kept an important artistic activity, with many galleries in the city which are usually openned without interruption all year long.
