China has a fabulous natural environment, seemed detached from another world, which has made this country one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Sanqingshan Mountains is one of the gems of this enigmatic and charming land that is China.

A true masterpiece of nature, the Sanqingshan Mountains have a mystique air and they are studded with tall trees, huge granite formations, perfectly vertical, towering towards the clouds, huge heights, resembling human or legendary animal silhouette.

Although a little known to the contemporaries, the Sanqingshan Mountains, situated at the north-west of Shangrao City in Jiangxi Province, was regarded as a sacred place for Taoists since the Tang Dynasty (618-907), when Taoism was at its peak.

The beauty of those places is unimaginable. The mountain is enveloped in fog for around 200 days a year. The landscape makes you think that you lose your way through the clouds. From time to time, the wind sweep the fog and the imposing peaks are suddenly appear in front of you.

Approximately 80 percent of Sanqingshan Mountains are covered with virgin forests. Over 2,500 plant species exist here, most of them are used in the traditional Chinese medicine.

Today, the Sanqingshan Mountains are one of the most valuable and most popular tourist destinations in China, the number of those who choose to visit the wild forests consedirebil increased, especially after the landscapes here have appeared in grand Hollywood production "Avatar".
