Visiting museums can be the best way to learn about history, because this way we can keep in mind the information more easily.

A museum everyone needs to visit in Sibiu is the Pharmacy Museum, which is perhaps the most interesting part of the Brukenthal National Museum. This museum is situated in the same place where one of the oldest pharmacies in Romania was located.

The Museum of Pharmacy is organized as a classical pharmacy and is formed of three parts: two laboratories, as well as a homeopathic and a documentation sector.

Why is it worth visiting?- you may ask. First of all to see all the ancient medical instruments used in the 18th and 19th century (there are more than 6000 pieces from many sources), because Sibiu was in this period home to many chemists in Transylvania. You can see also many homeopathic preparations, a collection of glass jars as well as wooden pharmaceutical jars.

All in all, you will be amazed of how much you can actually learn about the history of pharmacy by visiting this museum!
