Have you already heard of TimiÅŸoara? This is the largest city of Western Romania, a city influenced by many cultures, which can be seen in its varied architecture, which illustrates its authenticity. Turks, Austrians, Germans and Serbs they have all left their marks on this town. The town is many times referred to as `` Little Vienna`` due to its cultural life, as it is home to many theatrical and musical performances and not to mention its nightlife.

The best way to explore the city is on foot, because there are many public squares. You can also choose the bike. TimiÅŸoara is known as a very bike-friendly town, you will see here many people biking, more than in other towns. There are also many spots wherefrom you can rent a bike. If you care about the aspect of your bike at tbike you will find good-looking blue bikes and can rent them. The bikes I rented there were really in a good condition. Whether by bike or on foot, you have many things to visit in TimiÅŸoara.

You can start exploring the town from the Union Square. The most important characteristic of this square are the pastel painted buildings. It has also a number of cathedrals facing each other, that's why it is one of the most known squares of TimiÅŸoara.

The Nicholas Lenau College is on the Union Square as well. This used to be the first theater of TimiÅŸoara. Going further you'll find the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral which was the residence of the Serbian bishop and it still has its original decorations, which illustrates its baroque style. In the summer this square is filled with terraces where many people enjoy the sun and the drinks.

From the Union square you can head towards the Victory square. The Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral and the Opera Theater are both situated on this square. The Orthodox Cathedral is probably the most well-known building of TimiÅŸoara. Apart from these important buildings on the Victory square there are beautiful gardens with flowers and it is nice to hang around, especially in the summer.

From the Orthodox Cathedral you can take a walk to the Roses Park, where if you visit in the summer you'll see many roses ( don't forget that most roses are blooming in June). That's why TimiÅŸoara is also called `` the city of roses``. August is the best month to visit this park, during this period there is an open-air opera held here. Be prepared though, although the park is not that big, you can spend there a few hours absorbed by its beauty.

Another building you wouldn't want to miss is the Art Museum, which has an interesting section of contemporary art, but apart the expositions the building itself is worth seeing. There aren't many pieces exposed, but they often host here different exhibitions with works from other museums and galleries.

All in all, TimiÅŸoara has a history to show and is waiting for tourists who are eager to discover its beauty!
