The Ancutei Inn

In school I was obliged to read some of the main Romanian literature masterpieces and one of them was the novel Hanul-Ancutei (Ancutei-Inn) by Mihail Sadoveanu. The novel contains 9 stories told by fictional characters that meet at this inn. I know then that the inn really existed but never had I imagined that is still functioning today as it did those days.
The wonderful and rustic inn can be found at the crossroads leading to Piatra Neamt and Roman. The inn provides a place to sleep for all the travelers that want spend some days here. The restaurant is the main attraction as it offers a wide assortment of traditional Romanian food. What is more, you can choose to by different plates of food, pickles, house jams and take them home.
And the authenticity of the place does not stop here as you can also enjoy the music of the local traditional band and the traditional clothing of the waiters. And there is also the inns winery where the vine does not stop pouring.
I would recommend this inn because it can offer you an authentic, old and rustic atmosphere and in the same time an impeccable service.Less
