Walking around Toledo's old streets is one of the most charming things to do in this Beautiful Country. Count the hole day to make the tour and visit the main monuments described, and you should be aware that there will be significant walking, including going up slopes and stairs, since Toledo is built on a hill.

The tour would start at the Alcazar, the highest spot in the city, and the easiest to find. If you come from Madrid by car, you have a nearby public parking, but be ware of very narrow streets to get there; You could be stuck with a big car. If you come by train, you can take a shuttle from the railway station up the city.

A- The visit starts at the Alcazar where you could visit the Army Museum as well as the Public library of the Regio; Than walk Cuesta de Carlos V towards the Museo de Santa Cruz.

B- In the Monestario and previous Hospital, you can enjoy the beauty of this 16th century building as well as a nice collection of paintings among which El Grecos. If you are a good walker and have time, before going into the town's visit, you can go to the end of Calle conception and walk down towards Puerta and Bridge de Alcantara; A beautiful fortified ensemble. Then, walk back towards Plaza de Zocodover (at the edge of Cuesta de Carlos V) and take Calle Silleria or Calle Nueva until you reach the cross road between Calle de los Alfileritos and Calle Nunez de Arce.

C- If you are hungry, you can have lunch in Restaurant Alfileritos 24; If not take calle Nunez de Arce and take the first to the left and then the first to the right until you reach Puerta del Sol.

D- When there, you can enjoy the beauties of Puerta del Sol, the Mezquita Cristo de la Luz, a 1000 years old mosque, the last remaining muslim monument in the city.

E- You can continue to Puerta Valmardon walk Calle Cristo de la Luz and take the first to the right, Cuesta de las Carmelitas Descalzos. Again to the right until you reach Plaza de San Vicente, and the Building of Cardenal Lorenzana.

F- Continue on Cardenal Lorenzana, then Calle Esteban Illan. Take the left by crossing the small plaza and reach Iglesia San Roman where you have a museum showing the Toledo of the Wisigoth on Calle de San Roman;

G- When leaving the Iglesia, you can either go to the left and take Calle Clemente, or go to the right and take Calle Alfonso XII (my preference). Continue walking until you reach Calle Aljibillo, and Calle de la Campana, then Calle Angel.

H- Once on Calle Angel, you can take the first or second to the left and reach the Real Fundacion de Toledo and the nearby Sinagoga de Santa Maria de la Blanca on Calle de los Reyes Católicos.

I- Once finished visting the Sinagogue, you can either go back to Calle Angel and take to the right to reach Plaza Conde or take Calle de Los Reyes Catolicos, followed by Calle de Descalzos until you reach Plaza Conde. There you will find Iglesia de Santo Tome, where you can see El Greco Master Piece and one of the most famous paintings in the World.

J- Once you finish contemplating the Burial of the Count of Orgaz Painting, walk towards Travesía del Conde, and then to the left take Calle Taller del Moro, Calle Santa Ursula, to the left Calle Ciudad until you reach Plaza Ayuntamiento and the amazing Cathedral Santa Maria de Toledo, one of the most beautiful of Spain, with an amazing museum.

H- You can leave the Cathedral from the side (other entrance) and go up to Calle Comercio, and continue wandering in the streets around calle Comercio.
